The Path is a dimension that exists between heaven and Earth. The gate to The Path can only be accessed by 2 ways: if a person is the Wu Assassin, and acquiring an artifact that acts as a guidepost to the afterlife, as well as 5 Wu Lords. The Dao, the blue energy of space and time, flows through The Path.

The Path

A brief overview of The Path

History[]

It is unknown how or when The Path is formed or created. It is implied that The Path may be created after Ying Ying was killed. Since Ying Ying was the first Wu Assassin, she is tied to The Path and becomes a spirit who pulls the Wu Assassin into The Path, sometimes against their will. The Path was first seen in Drunken Watermelon where Ying Ying transported Kai to The Path, where she explains the history of the Wu Assassin and Wu Warlords.

The Path is seen multiple times when Kai is training with Ying Ying in Misspent Youth (when Kai Jin meditates what is his purpose), and there is a cave where previous Wu Assassin statues lie. The Path is the sole focus of Alec McCullough's plan, which is to travel to The Path in order to revive his family. In Paths: Part 1, Ku-Zan tells Kai the dangers of having an outsider in the Path, if that were to happen then reality would shift and the space and time barrier will be damaged.

In Paths: Part 2, Alec McCullough gathers the 5 Wu Warlords (with help from Kai giving Tommy the Earth Wu Xing by mistake) and uses the guidepost to the afterlife to transport the group to The Path. While Kai and his friends fight off Alec's henchmen, Alec arrives to the place where The Dao flows. Alec goes through the Dao, and is transported to the past where he meets his wife and son seemingly revived. After reuniting with his family, Kai kills Alec before leaving in order to preserve the space and time barrier. Ying Ying appears to Kai in the real world, seemingly not tied to the Path anymore
